Today I leave UW Hospital where I’ve been for the last 18 days. I hit my lowest low points in the compassionate care of the staff as I and my body could do nothing more than surrender to others managing infection, nutritional needs, blood products, electrolytes and so much more .

We are returning to our temporary apartment near the Hutch Cancer Center to complete the treatment procedures typical for the first 30-35 days of post-stem cell transplant. Today is already Day 24 so the expectation is we’ll be heading home to Olympia quite soon.
The fatigue is mind-boggling. I push for what is essential, like regular walking, PT exercises, and 5-6 small meals a day. Otherwise I just ride out the fatigue the rest of the time.
May you stay safe, be well, love much and be loved, and have a life of ease. 💕
With all our love,
Mary & Jackie
